Andrea M. Beetz, Dipl.-Psych., Dr. phil. works as a psychologist in research on attachment, emotional intelligence, and human-animal interactions. She received her degrees from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and has also conducted several research projects in the USA at University of California, and Utah State University, Logan, Utah, and in the UK at the University of Cambridge. Her research was supported by several scholarships from German foundations including the DAAD and the German Research Foundation (DFG). Andrea M. Beetz has published and presented her research on several international conferences. The focus of her current work in human-animal interactions is the application of attachment theory to human-animal relationships, the development of emotional intelligence and empathy, and correlates of animal abuse.
