Maren Scheurer

Maren Scheurer works as a postdoctoral research associate and lecturer at the Departments of Comparative Literature and English and American Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. She studied comparative literature, English studies, and psychoanalysis in Frankfurt and York (UK), and completed her doctorate in comparative literature at Goethe University Frankfurt in 2016. Her research interests include psychoanalytic aesthetics in contemporary media as well as the transformations of realism in late nineteenth-century literature. Her essays have appeared in a wide range of journals and edited collections, and, with Aimee Pozorski, she is coeditor of “Philip Roth’s Trans-Disciplinary Translations,” a special issue of Philip Roth Studies. Her book Transferences: The Aesthetics and Poetics of the Therapeutic Relationship is forthcoming with Bloomsbury (2019).
