Aims and Scope

The Journal of Terrestrial Observation (JTO) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal originally affiliated with the Purdue Terrestrial Observatory (PTO). JTO's unique mission is to examine the multi-disciplinary theories, models, technologies, and applications associated with earth observation in the broadest sense. The Journal covers a wide range of topics including satellite remote sensing, aircraft reconnaissance, and proximate sensing utilizing in situ instrumentation. Periodic special issues devoted to specific emerging technologies and unique applications accept both invited and openly-solicited articles for review. As of 2012, the journal is no longer published at Purdue and has moved to Tuskegee University. Past issues are still available on Purdue e-Pubs.
