About the Author(s):

J.L. Jefferies is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Purdue University.  He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and has taught at and held fellowships at Indiana University, Virginia Tech, Morehouse College, and Harvard University.  He has written three other books, Currently, he is working on a book about the Black Panther Party.
